Main responsibilities

  • Perform some project management duties and ensure a follow up
  • Deal with major projects
  • Evaluate the companies needs and prescribe the specifications within the equipment, materials and furniture that has to be purchased
  • Proceed the follow up of the shop drawings and the releasing
  • Purchase, according to the superintendants and procurement director, general or specialized equipment  and materials that will be used by the company
  • Bring help for the evaluation of the potential suppliers
  • Track the execution of the order towards the supplier and ensure a follow up
  • Assist the follow-up of the budget for purchasing department and communicate with the procurement director in order to solve, if necessary, the problems
  • Effectuate, if needed, procedures to apply the necessary corrections on the orders
  • Accomplish all other tasks and enquire all others responsibilities that can be referred by the supervisor

Skills and qualifications

  • Five to ten years experience as a purchaser, ideally in the construction field
  • Excellent capacity of communication, spoken as well as written (master French and English)
  • Master the use of computerized technology, such Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Knowledge of a purchasing software
  • Knowledge of procurement methods
  • Capacity to collaborate and work in a team
  • Detailed oriented, resourceful, organized and sense of responsibilities
  • Knowledge of electronic materials
