Responsibilities:

  • Develop Network Service Orchestration (NSO) core platform features and projects at all stages (Architecture, Implementation, Testing, Deployment, Documentation, Operations), a solution based on the open source Open Network Automation Platform (ONAP) software.
  • Support the automation of network services provisioning and operations through the creation of YANG/TOSCA/HEAT/BPMN models on the NSO platform.
  • Work in a cross-functional devops team (architects, developers, integrators, network specialists) Participate and contribute to a DevOps practice with high-quality code, continuous integration (CI), continuous deployment (CD), continuous development (CD), automated testing and test-driven-development (TDD).
  • Contribute upstream to key ONAP open source projects
  • Integrate Network Service Orchestration (NSO) components to existing BSS and OSS systems.
  • Support NSO day-to-day operations and provide automation to move towards a no-ops model.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of eight (8) years of IT software development experience in highly complex environments; Strong proficiency in Java architecture and development.
  • Experience designing, developing and supporting distributed, real-time and scalable software architectures (micro-services, REST/JSON APIs, Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Software development experience with key Network protocols (e.g. integrating NetConf/RESTconf, CLI, SNMP, BGP, IPV6)
  • Experience working in DevOps and Agile teams
  • Strong aptitude for innovation; can recognize opportunities for improvement in day-to-day work and take appropriate actions; ideally an enthusiastic individual who can act as a change agent
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Ability to conceptualize and think abstractly, and work and manage in a technically complex environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, software engineering or equivalent.

Assets:

  • Hands-on experience with ONAP, Opendaylight, HEAT, Openstack, Ansible or Chef; a strong asset
  • Hands-on experience with YANG, TOSCA and HEAT models; a strong asset
  • Working experience in SDN or NFV
  • Experience contributing to major open source projects
  • Written and oral communications skills in both English and French
  • Hands-on experience with Drools or Camunda BPMN
  • Working experience with big data technologies (e.g. Hadoop, Cassandra, MongoDB, Spark, Kafka)
  • Understanding of data plane acceleration technologies (DPDK, SR-IOV)
