Service Technician - Generators

Our client is a company offering temporary energy and/or temperature regulation rental solutions. They are among the leaders in their field. They are currently looking for a service technician.

Nature of position

Under the direction of the head of the division, your job will be to offer our clients the necessary technical support (in the field and in the workshop) with regards to installation, start-up, and technical monitoring for the full range of rental equipment offered (diesel and gas generators, coolers, heating equipment and air compressors), and to train operators to use said equipment. You will provide technical support over the phone and from time to time support may be required outside of normal working hours.

• Carry out diagnostics, detection of problems and trouble-shooting on equipment in the field and in the workshop;
• Provide constant support and ensure client satisfaction;
• Write up reports of anomalies and follow-up;
• Carry out preventative maintenance in the field;
• Ensure that effective technical support is provided over the phone during regular working hours and also outside of regular working hours;
• Take part in the preparation of equipment when it is received and shipped;
• Install and start up equipment for the client and train maintenance personnel if necessary;
• Take part in various trade fairs;
• Always maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment;
• Provide technical support for sales;
• Test equipment;
• Respect clients' safety requirements and rules;
• Carry out any other task related to your duties.

Required qualification

• College diploma in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial electronics, industrial maintenance, vocational diploma in industrial mechanics, automated systems electrical mechanics, automotive mechanics or other relevant education and training;
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience;
• Experience with maintenance of diesel and gas generators is an important asset;
• Car owner and holder of valid driver's license;
• Strong customer service skills;
• Functionally bilingual (spoken and written French and English);
• Available to travel to visit clients across the Quebec City region.
