Shop Helper

Motion Electric Motor Services is a division of Group Delom, which take part of a network of four (4) shops all located in the East of Canada. Our expertise is to offer service in A/C motors, generators, DC motors as well as synchronous motors of all sizes. Our know-how & service is well appreciated in the market, and our knowledge makes the difference in the customer recognition for so many years. Motion Electric Motor Services is searching for: Shop Helper (Electric Motor Shop)

Immediate Supervisor : Shop Supervisor   

Work Location : Mississauga

Status : Full time, day 7:30h-15:50h

Main responsibilities :

• Clean, sandblast, and steam clean electric motor parts;
• Grind, polish and remove varnish from motors;
• Move equipment around shop area using overhead crane;
• Provide assistance to shop winders & mechanics with day to day task;
• Work under supervision of experienced shop employees to learn different types of entry level technical skills;
• Maintain and keep shop area clean and organized;
• Other related duties as directed by supervisor.

Skills & requirements :

• OSSD (Ontario Secondary School Diploma;
• 1 year industrial experience (an asset);
• Ability to work with general hand tools;
• Driver License;
• Forklift and overhead crane certification.

Required Aptitude :

• The applicant must be efficient, reliable and a team player;
• You must observe all safety procedures and use proper equipment;
• Your ability to be versatile and to work well under pressure will insure your success in this position.
