Software Engineer – Wireless Baseband Physical Layer

Premium Staffing is looking for an energetic, self-driven engineer to help advance Base station cellular baseband software and firmware. Software includes Physical Layer solutions, as well as Layer 1 Control (Call processing) and Interfaces to Layer 2 and 3, for current and next generation cellular standards (2G, 3G, 4G).

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Understand 3GPP System specifications and requirements;
• Develop and maintain PHY reference chain;
• Convert algorithms to fixed-point C and trade off performance VS complexity;
• Port code to the target (fixed point embedded C);
• DSP Optimization (C/and assembler);
• Define & implement SW component unitary and sub-system test-benches to be used at all levels (from Mat lab to optimized implementations);
• Assist the validation team during product releases;
• Write and review technical documentation used internally and by customers.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or in Computer Engineering Science;
• Overall work experience: 2+ years of embedded systems (DSP) development;
• Experience in Embedded Software;
• Experience with WCDMA/HSPA Receivers is a must;
• Experience with other cellular systems is highly desirable;
• Familiar with the following environments:
• Algorithmic simulation: Mat lab, ADS, SPW;
• Programming languages:  C/C++, ASM;
• Validation and benchmarking methodologies;
• Development tools: Microsoft Visual Studio, DSP Tools;
• Real-Time tools: emulators, debugger and profiler;
• 3GPP conformance testing;
• Good English oral and writing skills are required;
• Understanding French is an asset.

REMUNERATION

Salary : 65000$ and more  stock options and many other benefits offered.
