SQL Server BI Developer

Scope of the Position :

Develop SQL Server Business Intelligence solutions and assist SQL Servers projects according to best practices and standards

Major Responsibilities :

• Develop, maintain and support SQL Server database activities automation such as data loading and unloading;
• Implement and improve data warehouse solutions using SQL Server, SSIS or other Business Intelligence applications;
• Design and develop complex queries and stored procedures, triggers, functions to support business processes;
• Performs advanced troubleshooting across all application components, debug, fix code, deploy and test the fixes;
• Resolve production issues with strong technical abilities, solid analytical/problem solving skills and application knowledge;
• Resolves challenging problems in collaboration with other internal customers or IT teams;
• Create and maintain documentations of data and process related subjects;
• Communicate all projects and maintenance issues to the appropriate teams;
• All other activities related to data subjects matter including internal team training.

Education & Training :

• Bachelor Degree in Information Systems, equivalent work experience acceptable;
• Ability to handle multiple complex tasks in priorities in a fast-paced environment;
• Must be fluent in speaking and writing in French and English.

Experience :

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in developing BI database projects using SQL Server 2008 R2 and greater;
• Must be an expert in SQL Server, SQL queries, stored procedures, reports, database design and performance tuning;
• Strong in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and Microsoft Visual C# 2008 programming skill is a must;
• SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) knowledge and experience;
• Strong performance tuning especially tuning complex queries, procedure and indexing strategies;
• Experience in Database design, Data Modeling and SQL Server best practices;
• Experience in Microsoft Power BI development and Microsoft SharePoint is a plus;
• Able to analyze, synthesize and resolve complex, abstract and extremely challenging business process;
• Flexible to adjust to fast moving priorities and ability to have short and long term vision to deliver the company’s needs.
