Team Leader, shipping & receiving (bilingual, evening shift)

Our client is looking for a bilingual Team Leader, shipping & receiving.

Responsibilities:

• Supervising and coordinating the operational activities of the working team and ensure the proper operation of warehouse, including receipt of inventory, packaging, preparation & processing orders, and loading trucks;
• Promote continuous improvement and standardization of processes and working methods;
• Use the appropriate method of shipping and ensure the quality and level of service delivery activities;
• Managing and solving the problems of delivery and storage;
• Preparing and issuing requisitions for the packaging material;
• Monitoring and recording of items received from subcontractors and products ready for shipping items;
• Contact subcontractors for shipping;
• Preparation of shipping documents;
• Participation in negotiations of delivery subcontractors;
• Checking of finished products to ensure compliance;
• Inspection of all finished goods and products received from subcontractors;
• Identification of nonconformities and determine the corrective actions;
• Application of standards and compliance with regulations;
• Application of health and safety standards;
• Communicate and ensure compliance with company guidelines and regulations;
• Ensure cleanliness and maintains workplaces, including compliance with environmental standards and recycling management;
• Assist staff in the performance of their duties;
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor as part of his duties.

Qualifications:

• Diploma in Operations Management or equivalent;
• 3-5 years of experience in the management of operations or equivalent area;
• Bilingual (French and English);
• Team management experience;
• Experience in process improvement (5S);
• Fluency with computer systems;
• Ability to work independently and under pressure with tight deadlines;
• Plan and coordinate workloads according to the deadlines and the potential of existing employees (support the team as needed);
• Ability to quickly identify errors and to intervene in order to ensure delivery of a quality product;
• Forklift Operator training;
• Travelling crane training (an asset).
