Our client is a city in the agglomeration of Montréal. They are currently looking for a Technical Municipal Engineering Officer for their Engineering and Buildings Department.

Nature of position

Reporting to the Supervisor – Design and Monitoring, you will carry out various technical tasks involved in the complete execution of works, including design (roadways, sidewalks, curbs, services, etc.), preparing documents for invitations to tender, and monitoring construction sites.

  • Carry out the complete design process for various municipal infrastructures;
  • Write up specifications and forms for tenders;
  • Monitor work sites;
  • Control the budget and schedules for projects assigned to you;
  • Work in cooperation with project managers;
  • Carry out any other task related to your duties.

Required qualification

  • College diploma in civil engineering or other relevant education;
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience;
  • Relevant experience working in a municipal context is considered an asset, as is any other combination of education and experience judged to be equivalent based on the established policy;
  • Highly knowledgeable of AutoCAD and of the MS Office suite (Word and Excel);
  • Skilled at reading, interpreting, and preparing plans and specifications;
  • Good written and verbal communication skills; able to write clear, concise reports;
  • Fluent in spoken and written French and English;
  • Must hold a valid Class 5 driver's license.
