Technical Sales Representative (Industrial Control Equipment)

Our client is an industrial control equipment supplier in the greater Montréal area, serving process industries and engineering consulting firms. They are among the leaders in their field, with numerous locations. They are currently looking for a sales representative to cover the Québec City region, the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region, and the Eastern Québec region.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the head of sales, your job will be to ensure the company's business development through sales representation and support, for any technical aspects to be addressed with a variety of industrial clients and with engineering firms. In addition, you will contribute to the development of bids and provide unequalled customer service.

• Serve as the contact person for clients with technical problems.
• Stay on top of the market, the sector, and your clients' projects, in order to offer an action plan aimed at growing the company and developing its strategic goals;
• Negotiate agreements with clients and ensure that the terms agreed to in the purchase order are respected;
• Choose components based on client needs;
• Analyze client needs, and read and understand specifications in order to offer appropriate solutions;
• Take part in exhibitions and inform clients of product prices and conditions of sale;
• Take part in the writing up of bids and provide selling prices for products based on market information;
• Solicit sales from existing and potential clients and offer the company's full range of products;
• Promote products in order to have them specified;
• Carry out prospecting and solicitation of potential clients and demonstrate dedication in following up with them;
• Work with management to set out a sales strategy centred on the territories and types of clients to be prioritized;

Required qualification

• Bachelor's degree or college diploma in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering; college diploma in industrial electronics; or other relevant education and training;
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience;
• Highly fluent in spoken and written French and English;
• Knowledge of process instrumentation, control valves, and safety valves is considered a significant asset, as is sales experience;
• Proficient with the MS Office suite.
