Logistics / Purchasing

POSITION SUMMARY

The Logistics/Purchasing candidate will fulfill all activities related to shipping, transportation of goods, and equipment purchasing. The ideal candidate will be perfectly bilingual (English and French), will have excellent international trade skills, including advanced knowledge in international carriage rules, and will be organised and proactive.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Tasks related to logistics:

• Coordinate goods shipments to clients, including documents completion, communication with freight carriers and files tracking;
• Contact clients to validate the delivery arrangements;
• Elaborate export procedures according to the different territories;
• Prepare and analyse customs documentation for international shipping;
• Update the certificates of origin and maintain the Harmonized System;
• Request carrier quotes and negotiate rates.

Tasks related to purchasing:

• Make equipment purchase;
• Find the best deals and terms of payment;
• Follow up orders with suppliers;
• Proceed returns of non-conforming products;
• Update suppliers files in the management computer system;
• Proceed to the reception of goods in the management software system;
• Check the import customs declarations;
• Perform other related tasks.

REQUIREMENTS

• Logistics training;
• Experience in international transportation;
• Relevant experience in hazardous materials transportation;
• Experience related to purchasing;
• Bilingualism (English and French) both written and spoken;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
• Ability to negotiate;
• Ability to prioritize and work under pressure;
• Dynamic, resourceful, organised and have a sense of responsibilities.
